Elijah Mears, age 21, is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro studying Classical Studies with a concentration in Classical Languages & Literature and a minor in Archaeology. He is a member of UNCG Hillel and the Queer Student Union, and is an officer with the UNCG Classical Society, a student organization dedicated to the promotion of learning about the Greco-Roman world. His areas of focus of study within Classics are Late Republican Rome, Latin and Greek Linguistics, and Living and Vulgar Latin. He is an avid writer, with his poem “Land of Setting Sun” published in the Fall 2014 edition of The Coraddi, UNCG’s literary magazine. In addition to writing, he fiddles with this website and makes up fake languages in his spare time, and he enjoys playing Pokémon, Cities: Skylines, and Fallout: New Vegas.
